About Fr. Dogli Memorial Technical Institute
Founded in 1997, Fr. Dogli Memorial Technical Institute is a premier technical school in the Oti Region. Crowned 2025 National Best Senior High School in Practical Agriculture, we provide hands-on mastery in engineering and technology. Fr. Dogli Memorial Technical Institute (DOTECH) is a premier, government-assisted Catholic technical institution located in New Ayoma, within the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region.
Established on March 1, 1997, the institute has evolved from a diocesan trade school into a leading public center for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) under the Ghana Education Service.

Academic Excellence and Distinctions
DOTECH is widely recognized for its "hands-on" pedagogical approach, summarized by our motto: Per Manibus Ad Gloriam Dei (Through our hands to the glory of God) The institute is a powerhouse in agricultural education, recently crowned the 2025 National Best Senior High School in Practical Agriculture—a title it has successfully defended multiple times since 1999. Furthermore, our students consistently excel nationally, notably producing the Overall Best Student in Catering and Hospitality Management at the 2021 Ghana TVET Excellence Awards.
Curriculum and Facilities
The institute offers a robust array of Certificate II – Intermediate programs.
Beyond core academic subjects like English, Mathematics, Integrated Science and Social Studies, students specialize in diverse elective technologies, including:
•Engineering & Construction: Electrical Engineering, Building and Construction, Plumbing, and Welding.
•Creative & Service Arts: Fashion Designing, Cosmetology, and Hospitality Management.
•Technology & Business: Computer Hardware, Digital Design, and Business (Accounting & Secretarial Options)
Our 93-hectare campus supports these programs with specialized machine shops, Demonstration Labs, and a computer laboratory. As a mixed-gender boarding and day facility, we provide a holistic environment featuring a library, dormitories, and sports facilities for football and volleyball.
Our Community, Governance & Student Life
Our progress is guided by a vibrant Board of Governors and a dedicated staff of 60, ensuring a stable foundation for institutional growth. Supported by a proactive Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) and the New Ayoma Traditional Authority, DOTECH thrives on a vibrant community spirit and a collaborative environment where every student reaches their full potential. With a current population of 1,178 students, our Guidance and Counseling Unit further ensures the spiritual and emotional growth of every individual, fostering a holistic atmosphere dedicated to the "total person."

Major Achievements
National TVET Excellence: Produced the 1st and 3rd best graduating students nationally in the Catering and Hospitality department out of 13,615 candidates. STEM Innovation: Qualified for the National Grand Finale of the STEMnnovation Competition (2024) as the sole technical institution representing the Oti and Volta regions. Sports Dominance: Emerged as the Overall Champions of the Oti TVET Sports and Games Festival (2025), excelling in football, athletics, and volleyball. Workforce Training: Successfully trained and graduated 273 learners in the Oil Palm Value Chain Programme (2022) and 280 master crafts/apprentices in Garment Making. National Representation: Recognized as the only TVET institution invited to perform at the 66th National Independence Day Celebration.

National Best Pre-Tertiary Institution in Practical Agriculture: Awarded at the 41st National Farmers Day Celebration (2025). Historic Agricultural Awards: National Best Second Cycle School in Agriculture/Practical Agriculture in 2015, 2002, and 2000. District Excellence: Named District Best Second Cycle Institution in Practical Agriculture in 2018 and 2020. Sustainability Award: Winners of the Southern Sector Plastic Waste Management Competition (2025) organized by the National Catholic Education Unit. Energy Innovation: Recognized as the Best TVET Institution in the Energy Challenge in the Oti Region for both 2022 and 2024

Plastic Waste Conversion: A project focused on converting plastic waste into useful products, demonstrating circular economy practices. Agricultural Demonstrations: Development of a vegetable demonstration field by Agricultural Mechanization students. Infrastructure Handiwork: Construction projects including roofing and structural work completed by Building, Construction, and Wood Technology students. Community Solutions: Development of technology-driven solutions to address local community challenges during the STEMnnovation competition
Innovation & Entrepreneurship
Agribusiness Management: Direct management of 93 hectares of land including cocoa farms, oil palm plantations, piggery, fish ponds, and coffee farms. Industrial Processing: Establishment of a dedicated oil palm processing unit and nursery. Social Enterprise Training: Only accredited institute in the Oti Region training master craft persons in social enterprises like cashew production, garment making, and cosmetology. Technical Support: Providing professional technical support to trade enterprises in the Oti Region, specifically in the Garment and Catering sectors.
