About Essipun Technical Institute
The Essipun technical institute formerly called social welfare technical and vocational training centre was established in the year 1960 by the statutory enablement of the criminal justice act, to provide technical training to student. By the promulgation of the Pre-tertiary Act,2020 Act 1049, the school has been realigned from the Social Welfare Department to the GHANA TECHNICAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING SERVICE (GTVET SERVICE) of the Ministry of Education. The realignment culminated to the name of the school being changed from Social Welfare Technical and Vocational Training Centre to ESSIPUN TECHNICAL INSTITUTE to suit our new status of a fully-fledged technical institute. With the birth and realignment with GTVET service, Essipun technical institute is the new wave of technical education.
