New Century Technical Institute (NCTI), Dansoman is one of the public. Second cycle technical institutes which was established by the 31st December Women’s Movement in 17th February, 2000. The Institute is located at Dansoman Sahara, Accra near the Children’s Park and shares wall with the Dansoman Community School.
New Century Technical Institute, NCTI Dansoman is one of the public second cycle technical institutes under the Ghana TVET Service which was established by the 31st December Women’s Movement on 17th February, 2000. The Institute is located at Dansoman Sahara, Accra near the Children’s Park and shares a wall with Dansoman Community School. NCTI runs demand-driven, industry-led programs to equip students with practical and employable skills. Courses offered include Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Fashion Design Technology, Catering and Hospitality Management, Leatherwork Design, Computer Hardware and Software, Wood Construction Technology, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Plumbing and Gas Fitting. Beyond hard skills, the institute is deeply interested in giving students soft skills to prepare them for the future, and it is keen on holistic learning through strong involvement in extra-curricular activities, especially sports, where the school consistently takes 1st and 2nd positions in soccer, volleyball and basketball during Ghana TVET Service zonal and inter-zonal competitions. The mission of the institute is to equip people of all ages with demand driven and industry led TVET skills, knowledge and positive attitudes to succeed in their careers and enrich their communities. Its vision is to transform into a world class technical institute driving innovation, entrepreneurial spirit, sustainability and societal impact. NCTI is guided by core values of teamwork, prudent financial management, respect for all, safety and integrity.

New Century Technical Institute has trained over 5,000 students since its establishment, with about 90% of graduates gainfully employed or running their own businesses as self-employed technicians and entrepreneurs. The institute has built strong alliances and partnerships with both local and international organizations to enhance training quality, student exposure, and industry linkages. Key partners include KAAF University, GIZ, UNESCO, Action Aid, and others. Through these collaborations and its focus on practical, demand-driven TVET, NCTI continues to produce skilled graduates who contribute meaningfully to their careers and communities, while also excelling in sports and extra-curricular competitions at zonal and inter-zonal levels under Ghana TVET Service.

Innovative Initiative: NCTI designed and built a solar-powered fridge that safely stores blood and sterilizes hospital equipment, providing a sustainable, off-grid solution for healthcare facilities.
