About Techiman Technical Institute

Techiman Technical Institute is a reputable TVET institution committed to providing quality technical and vocational education. The institute equips students with practical skills, innovation, and entrepreneurship competencies to meet industry demands, foster self-reliance, and contribute meaningfully to national development through skilled workforce training.

Techiman Technical Institute formerly known as the Technology Solutions Center (TSC) is located in the Techiman Metropolitan area of the Bono East Region, Ghana. It was established in early 2022 to provide Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). The institute was founded with the mission of equipping students with practical, hands-on skills to enhance their employability and contribute significantly to the local economy of Techiman and its environs.
Development and Growth
In its formative years, Techiman Technical Institute began with two core programs:
1. Welding and Fabrication Technology
2. Mechanical Engineering Technology
As the demand for skilled labor increased in the region, the institute expanded its curriculum to include additional programs:
Garments and Fashion Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology and Building Construction. The growth of these programs was made possible through the dedication and hard work of the institute’s staff and volunteers, who were instrumental in developing the school’s reputation and capabilities.
Expansion and Changes
Mr. Maxwell Ntiamoah was the first appointed principal of the institute, with an initial staff strength of five and a modest student population of sixty- one (61), comprised of Form 2 and Form 3 students. Under his leadership, the foundation of the institute was laid.
Following the exit of Mr. Ntiamoah, Mr. Alfred Boham was appointed as the substantive principal in September 2024. Under his leadership, the institute has seen remarkable growth. The staff strength has increased to twenty-four (24), with a current student population of Eight hundred and twenty-three (823), supported by nine (9) volunteers.
The institute continues to operate out of a 6-unit classroom block built by the Techiman Metropolitan Assembly with funding from GETFund. This facility has been critical in supporting the institute’s operations and accommodating its growing population.
Techiman Technical Institute remains committed to its vision of providing quality Technical Education and contributing to the Socioeconomic Development of the Techiman Metropolitan area and beyond.
