About Bolgatanga Central Technical Institute

Bolgatanga Central Technical Institute was Established in 1972 by the Department of Community Development, and absorbed by Ghana TVET Service in February 2021. BCTI located in the Upper East Region of Ghana, has a rich history of providing technical education to the youth. Established to predominamtly to equip students with practical skills, the institution has grown over the years to become a reputable center for technical and vocational training

The institute offers in-plant training opportunities for all trades and is also a center for piloting new trades. BCTI has partnered with other reputable businesses, and companies in the Upper East Region to provide trainees with industrial experience and employment opportunities.

Major Achievements

Bolgatanga Central Technical Institute has seen a significant increase in student enrollment, with a 35.7% rise in admission for the 2020/2021 academic year, bringing the total number of students to 900. This growth is attributed to the institution's conversion to a Technical institute and the introduction of new programs. The institute aims to further increase enrollment, focusing on diversity, quality, and equity as part of its 10-year strategic plan (2023-2032)
