Kumbungu Technical Institute is an emerging centre of excellence in technical and vocational education in Northern Ghana. Established in 2022, the institute was founded to provide practical, industry-relevant skills training aimed at empowering young people and supporting local and national development. Since its inception, the school has demonstrated steady growth and currently enrolls a student population of 158, including more than 20 proficiency students who are being trained to enhance their competencies in various trades.
The institute currently offers programmes in Fashion Design Technology, Wood Technology, Beauty Therapy, and Hairdressing. These programmes are carefully designed to combine theoretical knowledge with hands-on practical training, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared for employment or self-employment. In line with its vision of expansion and diversification, the institute has advanced plans to introduce additional programmes such as Catering Technology, Building Technology, and Electrical Engineering to meet the growing demand for technical skills in Ghana.
Kumbungu Technical Institute is presently located at the Opportunity Industrialization Center (OIC) at the entrance of Kumbungu Township, providing a convenient and accessible learning environment for students within the municipality and beyond. The institute operates as a day school and supports student welfare by providing one hot meal per day, helping to enhance student concentration, attendance, and overall academic performance.

Entry Requirements
General Entry Requirements Admission into Kumbungu Technical Institute is open to applicants who have completed Junior High School (JHS) or its equivalent. At Kumbungu Technical Institute, students actively apply their skills through practical projects. Fashion students successfully sewed first-year uniforms, Wood Technology students produced 30 pieces of furniture and a sofa for the Principal, while Beauty Therapy and Hairdressing students provide grooming services, including hair plaiting for staff and community members.
