About Akrofufu Technical Institute
The Akrofufu Technical Institute formerly known as Akyem Akrofufu ICCES Vocational Training Institute was established by the else while Integrsted Community Centres for Employable Skills (ICCES) in the year 2002, under the Non- Formal Division (NFED) of Ministry of Education in April 1986. It was later move to the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relayion by cabinet decision in 1994.
The institution name has been changed from Akyem Akrofufu ICCES Vocational Institute to Akrofufu Technical Institute due to the passage of Pre- Tertiary Education Regulatory Act 2020, Act1049 and the alignment of TVET institutions run under nine different ministries to form the Ghana TVET Service under the Ministry of Education.
Incorporated in the year 2002, located in Akyem Akrofufu, Atiwa West District in the Eastern Region of Ghana, it is a public institution run under the Ghana TVET Service as a Category C school. The institution is a mixed day and boarding school.

Major Achievements
1.Construction of 8 unit classroom block with auxiliary facilities by Atwa west District Assembly. 2. Constructoon of 10 water closet toilet by Atiwa West District Assembly. 3. Donation of three polytank by former MP and Atiwa West District Assembly 4. Donation of twenty hand sewing machine by former DC Atiwa West. 5. Orgsnised fund raising ceremony and bought two industrial sewing machine, plan uder way to buy additional two. 6. Construction of kitchen by the chief of Akyem Akrofufu. 7. Solicit support from the Akyem Akrofufu Traditional authority to construct 25 student beds. 8. Day school since 2024 / 2025 academic year has been granted boarding status by the TVET Service Management. 9. Solicit for parents support to buy, 10 pantry bowls, one gas cylinder, one big gas stove, coal pot. 10. Donatoon of two big cooking pots, pantry bowls, cups by Nana Konty Hene of Akyem Akrofufu. 11. Community , NGO, and Atiwa West District Assembly constructing male dormitory for the school.
