About Kibi Technical Institute
KIBI TECHNICAL INSTITUTE A BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT THE SCHOOL Kibi Technical Institute – was established on the 1st September, 1978 with only two (2) department. They were masonry and, carpentry, and joinery with twenty (20) trainees to become master craftmen within three (3) years. As the institute advanced, other programmes such as Automobile Engineering Technology, Electrical and Electronics Technology Engineering, Leather works, Plumbing and Gas fitting and Computer Hardware were introduced and maintained till date. These programmes came to light due to the increase demand of skills from industries, organization and self development. To ensure gender equality and female empowerment, early in the years 2000 female trainees were also admitted to embark on some male dominated programmes and since then the institute has been admitting both male and female for all programmes. The examining body over the years was NVTI. Past trainees of the institute have received training from major stakeholders both foreign partners and local partners as well. The Institute has also introduced new programmes such as Garment and Fashion and welding and fabrication to meet the standards facilitation, training and assessing, staff of the institute went through intensive CBT training programme in 2012, and in 2017. The trainees enrolment has been increasing over the admission years. The institute has also recorded some training programmes for some government special initiative programmes such as Gender Responsive skills and Community Development Project (GRSCDP) from 2011 to 2013 and Alternative Livelihood Project (ALP) from August, 2018 to July 2019. Currently, the institutes take its examination from NVTI, NABPTEX and GES Cert II depending on programme of study in various levels – Prof I, II, NVTI Cert I, GES TEU Cert II and NABPTEX core. Employment history of our past trainees have always been positive, professional and successful without any report of incompetence, deviance, and other unprofessional job ethics. 3.0 VISION To train high quality personnel for self-employment within the working industry. 4.0 MISSION The Institute exists to ensure improvement in the living standards of people by giving them opportunities in the working industry
