About Juaben Technical Institute
Juaben Technical Institute was established and absorbed by Ghana TVET Service in 2023. It was built by the former Member of Parliament(MP) of Juaben Municipal Area, Hon. Ama Pomaa. However starting operating in 2024 under the leadership of Mr. Emmanuel Agyen the first Principal of Juaben Technical Institute. JTI is the first public technical school in the Juaben Municipal Area First batch of 65 student and still counting
Juaben Technical Institute is a fast-growing technical and vocational education and training (TVET) institution established in 2024 to provide practical, skills-based education to young people. The institute was founded with a clear vision of equipping students with relevant technical competencies, entrepreneurial skills, and professional discipline needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market.
At its inception, the institute began with two core programmes: Electrical Engineering Technology and Plumbing and Gas Fitting Technology. These programmes were carefully selected to address critical skill gaps in the technical sector and to provide students with hands-on training that aligns with industry demands. Building on its early success and growing reputation, the institute has recently expanded its academic offerings to include Fashion Design Technology and Building Construction Technology. This expansion reflects the institute’s commitment to diversifying opportunities and meeting the evolving interests and career aspirations of its students.
Currently, Juaben Technical Institute operates with two academic levels—first-year and second-year students—with a total student population of approximately 200. The institute maintains a conducive learning environment supported by nine well-utilized classrooms that facilitate both theoretical instruction and practical engagement.
The institution is staffed by a dedicated team of 17 personnel, comprising 10 teaching staff and 7 non-teaching staff. The teaching staff are committed professionals who bring both academic knowledge and industry experience into the classroom, ensuring that students receive quality, competency-based education. The non-teaching staff provide essential administrative and operational support, contributing to the smooth running of the institute.
Juaben Technical Institute is a day school, making education accessible to students within Juaben and surrounding communities. The campus is designed to support student welfare and convenience, including a spacious area allocated for food vendors who provide a variety of meals for both students and staff. Additionally, the institute is equipped with a six-seater water closet (WC) toilet facility, ensuring proper sanitation and hygiene on campus.
A unique feature of the institute is its 2.5-acre farmland, which serves as a resource for practical learning, potential agricultural projects, and future expansion. This space provides opportunities for students to engage in supplementary skills development and promotes sustainability initiatives.
