About Our Lady of Fatima Technical Institute
Our Lady of Fatima Technical Institute is a Government of Ghana adopted Technical Institute under the Ghana TVET Service. The school was established in February 1991 by an expatriate Priest of the Catholic Church, by name Rev. Fr. Pieter Bootsma from the Netherlands, who was stationed at the Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Sampa, between October 1969 and 1997
Our Lady of Fatima Technical Institute was established on 2nd February, 1991, by an expatriate Priest of the Catholic Church, by name Rev. Fr. Pieter Bootsma from the Netherlands, who was stationed at the Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Sampa, between October 1969 and 1997, with the common objective. It was established to provide both formal and informal apprenticeship training in employable skills to the youth in the catchment area and beyond, to provide self/gainful employment, so as to help eradicate poverty, streetism, and unemployment.
For a start, a total of forty (40) students, comprising of twenty-seven (27) boys and thirteen (13) girls, were admitted as pioneers. These numbers have been increasing tremendously over the years, with an approximate growth rate of 10% each year.
The Institute, as of January 2026, has over 700+ learners. The Institute currently runs five (5) programmes. These are: Electrical Engineering Technology Fashion Design Technology Business Studies (Secretarial/Keyboarding option) Building and Construction Technology Wood Construction Technology
